By default, accrued leaves cannot be taken after the tracker's deadline.
For example, in France for paid leave, the legal duration of taking paid leave is from 01/06/XX to 31/05/XY, so the deadline for taking paid leave is 31/05.
If balances are to be taken after the deadline, it is possible to extend this entitlement.

Taking annual leaves on N-1 tracker
You may decide to extend the annual leave entitlement for the previous year (Referred as "N-1"). It will be thus important to review at first that using the tracker for the previous year is indeed allowed. Let's see this specific point together.
Access : Admin Area > staff leave and absence management > Staff leave profiles
Select the profile you want:
- On the relevant, line , and thus type of absence, check if the N-1 period is set to "not authorized".
- If "not authorized" switch to 1 or 2.
- "1" will give priority over all other trackers. Thus the system will use the balance avalaible at first in the tracker for the period N-1 (If "1" is set for N-1). Once used, the system switches for tracker "2" (N), etc...
- If "not authorized" switch to 1 or 2.
- Save.
Setting up a length for extension
Now you have authorised your fellow colleagues to use remaining annual leaves for the previous year, we should now work on defining to which extent, up to which day they will be able to use their entitlement.
Access : Admin Area > Staff leave and absence management >Staff leave types
- Choose the relevant type of leave or absence.
- In "Conditions for accruing and taking leave", enter the number of days you wish to extend the entitlement for.
- Example: Enter the value "31" in the field corresponding to the period N-1 to extend the original deadline from 31/05 to the new deadline of 01/07.
- Save the changes!
