How to create or edit a staff leave/absence profile?
An employee may benefit from a variety of different types of absences as long as these absences are added to the relevant profile.
Access : Admin Area > Staff leave and absence management > Staff leave profiles
- Click on "New" to create a brand new profile. Click on "Open" if you wish to review an already existing profile.
- In the "General" tab, put a name in 'Description' and a code (They can be identical).
- You may add new absences or change current absence types in the "Staff leave and absence types" tab. Any absence you add will be made available to employees when creating requests (Unless restrictions are added):
- To insert a new leave type click on 'Insert a new line'

- Setting up numbers in columns "Period N-1", "Period N" and "Period N+1, allows setting up a specific priority. This setting is particularly useful when using trackers and when extending entitlements.
- For example: Bob wishes to use his remaining annual leave balance from the previous year (Period N-1). By adding "1" in the above "Period N-1" column, we indicate the system to use the balance available at first in the previous year. Once empty, the system goes to the next balance, set as "2", thus "Period N", etc...

- The "Full-time equivalent days for staff leave days that have been accrued and taken" column defines how annual leave requests are calculated:
- If activated: All employees will accrue the same number of leaves regardless of how many hours or days they work per week. Additionally, may a part-time worker requests holidays, his or her entitlement not only will remain the same as full-time employees, but will also be calculated as if they were full-time employees.
- If not activated, the system will pro-ratise the number of leaves, based on the number of hours or days worked by employees.

- The "Periods of unauthorized staff leave" column may be used to set blackout periods.
- For example: Bob is working in hospitality. August is a rather busy month. Thus, in order to support operations, his manager decides to put restrictions on holiday requests during this month.
- The "Unauthorised days" column may be used to set blackout days.
- The "Configuration" tab allows to configure additional rules:

- Leave types that cannot be taken contiguously.
- The calculation if only one day is requested.
- Rules transfer from one tracker to another.
